If you live in Missouri and have questions about Medicare or health insurance, the Missouri Department of Insurance/Missouri SHIP Program provides free, one-on-one counseling, helpful resources, and referrals to support you at no cost.

Trained ounselors can answer questions about:

  • Medicare Part A and Part B
  • Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Medicare Part D)
  • Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap)
  • Medicare Advantage Plans (HMOs and PPOs)
  • Long-term care insurance
  • Medicare Savings Programs (QMB, SLMB, and QI)
  • Prescription drug assistance programs or drug discount cards offered by your state and pharmaceutical companies
  • Medicaid and other insurance programs, including free or reduced-fee health care programs

Counselors work with you one-on-one to explain your Medicare benefits, help you compare health insurance and drug plans, and make sure you’re not paying more than you need to for care or prescriptions.
