The Taxi Voucher Program at the Seaside Old Meyer Center is a convenient transportation option for older adults needing non-emergency medical transportation via taxi. This public transit program requires riders to schedule rides at least one day in advance and offers various payment options, including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid payments. Riders pay a $3 copay plus one voucher per taxi ride, with any fare above $17 covered by the rider. Only one voucher is allowed per trip. In addition to providing private taxi rides, the program offers paratransit services and assistance with packages or bags. It allows for on-demand scheduling, shared rides, and accepts different forms of payment such as cash, check, credit card, and pre-payment. Riders can benefit from door-to-door transportation, a driver waiting for them during errands or appointments, and the option to travel with service animals. Rides must originate and terminate in one of these two areas; Area 1: Anywhere within the city limits of Salinas.Area 2: Anywhere within the city limits of Carmel, Del Rey Oaks, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Sand City, and Seaside.
