Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you have a disability.
The Paratransit Service is a convenient transportation option available to individuals seeking non-emergency medical transport. This public transit program offers private rides through taxis and cars, as well as shared rides in vans following fixed routes. Riders have the flexibility to schedule their transportation on-demand or in advance, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs.
To access this service, riders can pay for trips using various methods such as cash, credit card, check, insurance, or Medicaid payments. Additionally, the program accepts vouchers, coupons, and donations to assist individuals in covering their transportation costs. There is a flat fee of $3.00 for one-way trips, and riders have the option to pre-pay or pay a membership fee for additional benefits such as door-to-door transportation.
Riders can also take advantage of additional services provided by the Paratransit Service, such as carrying packages or bags, traveling with service animals, and having a driver wait during appointments or errands. By offering a range of payment options, flexible scheduling, and accommodating services, this program aims to provide older adults with a reliable and accessible transportation solution for their medical and everyday needs.
