Rural Public Transportation is a non-emergency medical transportation program that offers affordable transportation services to older adults. This program provides convenient rides via taxi, allowing older adults to travel to medical appointments, run errands, or attend social activities. Riders are required to schedule their rides at least one day in advance, ensuring timely and reliable service. With a flat fare of three dollars ($3.00) per one-way trip for all riders, Rural Public Transportation is a cost-effective option for older adults with various payment options available, including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid payments. The program also offers door-to-door transportation, making it accessible and convenient for older adults with mobility challenges. Additionally, Rural Public Transportation provides paratransit services, allowing older adults to travel with ease and comfort. Whether it's a shared ride with other passengers or a private ride, this program caters to the unique transportation needs of older adults in rural areas.
