The Door to Door program is a convenient transportation service designed for older adults who may need assistance getting to various appointments and activities. This program operates using donated vehicles and offers rides using cars. The pricing structure is based on the length of the ride, with a short ride of 0-3.9 miles priced at $10, a medium ride of 4-7.9 miles at $15, and a long ride of 8-12 miles at $20. Additionally, there are extra fees for same-day or on-demand rides, same-day cancellations, and Lyft no-shows or missed rides. To utilize this service, older adults are required to schedule their rides in advance, typically a few days prior to the intended travel date. Payment for the service can be made using a credit card, and riders are charged based on the distance traveled. When booking transportation through the Door to Door program, it is important to plan ahead and consider scheduling rides in advance to secure the needed assistance with transportation.
