Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you are 65+ years old, or you have a disability.
The Taxi Voucher Program offered by the City of Monterey Recreation is designed to assist older adults with accessing transportation conveniently and affordably. Participants in this program can utilize taxi services by using vouchers or coupons, along with a small copay of $3. Each voucher covers the cost of a taxi ride as long as the fare does not exceed $17. If the fare goes beyond $17, the rider is responsible for covering the remaining cost.
Individuals using the Taxi Voucher Program are allowed to use one voucher per trip and can schedule their rides on-demand for added flexibility. This program ensures that older adults receive curb-to-curb transportation, making it easier for them to get to their desired destinations safely and comfortably. By providing a cost-effective way to access taxi services, the Taxi Voucher Program aims to support older adults in maintaining their independence and staying connected to their community.
