Please make sure to contact Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC): Dignified Senior Transportation to confirm details of their transportation services.
Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social or recreational purposes. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Dignified Senior Transportation program offers a valuable service for older adults, providing shared van rides for those in need of transportation. Riders are encouraged to make a suggested donation of $0.50 for a one-way ride within the service area and $1.00 for rides outside the designated area, although the program is free of charge. To ensure a seamless experience, riders are required to schedule their rides a few days in advance, offering the flexibility needed to plan ahead for appointments, social outings, or other activities.
As part of its commitment to inclusivity, the program allows riders to bring their service animals along for the journey. This accommodation ensures that older adults with service animals can access the transportation they need without any barriers. By utilizing the Dignified Senior Transportation program, older adults can rely on a reliable and convenient means of getting to their destinations safely and comfortably, contributing to a sense of independence and mobility within their community.
