The Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) is a wonderful program designed to provide older adults with transportation assistance at no cost, although donations are encouraged. Through this program, older adults can schedule shared rides via a van for various appointments and errands. Riders are required to book their transportation a few days in advance through the Rides In Advance service, ensuring that they can reach their destinations on time. One of the key benefits of the VTS program is its curb-to-curb transportation service, which offers older adults a convenient and reliable way to get around the community. Additionally, riders are welcome to bring their service animals along for the journey, making the transportation experience more comfortable and accommodating. Overall, the Veterans Transportation Service is a valuable resource for older adults seeking cost-free and efficient transportation options for their daily needs.
