TRIPS is a convenient transportation program designed to cater to the needs of older adults residing in Irvine. To participate, individuals are required to pay an annual registration fee of $25 initially, and $20 for subsequent years. One-way trips within Irvine are priced at a reasonable $1.90, offering older adults affordable mobility options within the city. While transportation to destinations beyond Irvine is available, it is important to note that service to other areas is limited, with costs varying based on the location and distance. Prices for trips outside Irvine range from $3.80 to $5.70. To ensure a smooth ride, individuals are encouraged to schedule their trips in advance, keeping in mind that bookings should be made at least a few days prior to the intended travel date. TRIPS operates primarily through van transportation, providing a comfortable and secure way for older adults to get around. Payment for the program can be made using a check or in cash, offering flexibility to participants.
