TRIPS is a convenient transportation program designed to cater to the needs of older adults, offering non-emergency medical transportation via taxi services. This program supports the older adults in our community by providing affordable transportation options, with payment methods including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid. Pricing for TRIPS is structured to include an annual registration fee, as well as flat fees that vary based on the destination within Irvine or other areas.
Riders utilizing TRIPS can schedule their rides in advance, allowing for efficient planning of transportation needs. This program offers flexibility by accepting various payment methods such as checks, credit cards, pre-payment, and cash. TRIPS ensures that older adults have access to safe and reliable transportation by accommodating their individual needs, including the option for on-demand scheduling, shared rides, and assistance with packages or bags.
Additionally, TRIPS prioritizes the comfort and convenience of older adults by providing door-to-door transportation, allowing service animals, and offering drivers who can wait during errands or appointments. Whether it's a private ride in a car or van, transportation via bus or train on fixed routes, or paratransit services, TRIPS aims to support older adults in maintaining their independence and mobility.
