The Taxi Voucher program is an hourly-rate non-emergency medical transportation program designed for older adults. This public transit program offers the convenience of transportation via taxi, allowing riders to schedule rides at least one day in advance. Riders can make payments through insurance, vouchers or coupons, donations, or membership fees. Additionally, there is a flat fee option available where riders purchase a $50 taxi book for $14. The program also accepts Medicaid payments and provides assistance with packages or bags. For added convenience, the Taxi Voucher program allows on-demand scheduling and offers shared rides. Riders have the flexibility to pay with cash, credit cards, or checks. The program provides private rides via car or van, accommodating door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation services. Service animals are permitted, and there is an option for a driver to wait for the passenger during errands or appointments. Overall, this program provides a reliable and accessible transportation solution for older adults needing to get to medical appointments, run errands, or attend social engagements.
