The Taxi Service program offers older adults a convenient and flexible transportation option at an hourly rate. This non-emergency medical transportation program utilizes taxis for public transit, providing private rides for riders who schedule their trips at least one day in advance. The program offers the option to purchase taxi vouchers for $3 each, with each voucher being worth up to $12 in taxi meter fare for a one-way trip. Riders are responsible for any fare exceeding the $16 voucher subsidy and tipping the driver. Additionally, the program accepts various forms of payment, including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid payments. Paratransit services are available, with assistance provided for packages or bags. Riders can schedule rides in advance, with door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation services offered. The program ensures inclusivity by permitting riders to travel with service animals. Overall, the Taxi Service program provides a reliable transportation solution for older adults, whether they need to run errands, attend appointments, or travel along fixed routes.
