The Patient Transportation Services program offers non-emergency medical transportation for older adults, ensuring they can get to and from medical appointments conveniently and safely. This public transit program utilizes taxi services and private car rides to provide door-to-door transportation for older adults, making it easier for them to access essential healthcare services. With the option to schedule rides in advance, older adults can plan their transportation needs efficiently, whether it's a few days or up to a week ahead.
Riders in this program can pay for their transportation using various methods, including insurance, vouchers, donations, check, credit card, or cash. Additionally, Medicaid payments are accepted, with cost-sharing arrangements in place to make the service accessible and affordable for older adults. The program also offers shared rides and on-demand scheduling, giving older adults flexibility in managing their transportation needs.
For added convenience, the Patient Transportation Services program provides assistance with packages or bags, allowing older adults to travel with ease. Service animals are welcome on board, and riders can benefit from a driver who will wait for them during appointments or errands. With a focus on affordability, accessibility, and flexibility, this program aims to support older adults in maintaining their health and well-being through reliable transportation services.
