The Public Transit program offers convenient and affordable transportation services for individuals across various age groups. The program features different pricing options tailored to meet the diverse needs of the community. For adults aged 19-59, fares range from $1.50 for a single ride to $40 for a monthly pass, providing flexibility for those who rely on public transportation for their daily commute or occasional travel. Reduced fares are available for youth aged 6-18, individuals with Medicare and Medicaid cards, active military personnel and their dependents, and those with qualifying disabilities. Notably, the program extends complimentary transportation to older adults aged 60 and above, as well as youths aged 0-5, promoting accessibility for these segments of the population. To access the free fare benefit, seniors are kindly requested to present a government-issued ID or a senior card obtainable from the Borough Administration Center. Public Transit primarily operates via bus or train, utilizing fixed routes to efficiently serve passengers' transportation needs. Riders can conveniently pay for their fares using cash, checks, or opt for pre-payment options. Additionally, the program adheres to a fixed schedule, ensuring reliable and consistent transportation services for its patrons. Service animals are warmly welcomed onboard, providing necessary accommodation for individuals with disabilities or those requiring assistance.
