Medicare Rx Extra Help Application

If you have Medicare and have limited income and resources, you may be able to get Extra Help paying for your prescription drug costs if:

  • Your income is less than $20,625 if single and $27,705 if married. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, you may still get help even if your income is higher than these limits.
  • You have resources less than $14,610 if single and $29,160 if married.

Why You Should Apply for Medicare Extra Help

If you meet the guidelines, you will have low or no deductible, low or no premiums, no coverage gap (also called the “doughnut hole”), and will pay much less for your prescriptions.

At the same time, you can start the application process for the Medicare Savings Programs that could increase your monthly income up to $135.50. You will also find out if there are other benefit programs that can save you money.
